I was a fresher at that time and so I had to say a "NO" which became the answer which changed the interview scenario. When asked for the rejection I was told that they found an experienced candidate for entry level position.
My answer was that in the past I had made lunch for coworkers or brought in treats to cheer people up. I also tried to take their workload if they were struggling.
I would try to figure out why they are in a bad mood, what the situation is, empathize with them, and help THEM figure out that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, bad situations do not last forever, and work through it with them.
Before I change anything, first I need to figure out the problem and do something about it.
