Answered that I currently engaged in some work from home scenarios and was prepared to do so if necessary in the future. I was informed that was not a possibility and that we were expected to be either in the office or on the customers site.
I do not remember the answer I gave - I do remember feeling very uncomfortable however because that is one of those interview questions that every one asks and is so hard to answer. How does one describe themselves? That can change from day to day.
I said that I would do my very best to handle it in a mature manner, making sure to keep the community as safe as I can. It is my job to alert the authority figures in our community in such a scenario (i.e. police, my supervisor, community security officer, etc.). If I am in a bad position and could potentially be in harm's way, I would re-act naturally by avoiding the situation or defending myself as best as I could. Finally, directing this person to the appropriate resource, should the situation calm itself down is the right course of action as the RA.
This surprised me as well, as most strategy projects have some measure of change management or organizational transformation inherent within them--the split between the two struck me as unusual. I answered by discussing the strategy projects I'd worked on (I was interviewing for Business Strategy) and also emphasized how important it was for these practice areas to work together
I would review materials to familiarize myself with the project and general interviewing techniques, map my cases and arrange them by location, check to make sure I have all necessary supplies, practice my introductory speech, and give myself a 'pep talk' to prepare to meet new people.
