Two points are randomly placed on a line of length 1. What is the probability that the three segments created form a triangle?4 AnswersI think it might be 1/4. Lets think it in this way. We have three random numbers: a, b and c. P(a + b < c) = 1 / 2. P(a + c < b) = 1 / 2. As they are independent, the probability is 1 / 4 to meet both requirements.I think that the answer is 1/2. The first point could be placed anywhere on the line segment and there's still the same probability of a triangle being formed. The second point is the only one that matters. No matter where the first point p1 is placed, half of the possible places that you could put p2 will not result in a triangle, because it would violate the rule that the sum of the lengths of any 2 sides must exceed the length of the third. It's easier to understand if you draw it out. P( a + b > c | a) = 1/21/4 is correct. This is also the probability when the second ordered statistics in u(0,1) is larger than 1/2Show More Responses1/4

What have you done that you are most proud of? What vendor selections have you been through? What are your salary requirements?1 AnswerI think I answered all questions well. My answers are too specific to keep anonymity here, but basically I think they wanted sincerity and experience. My interview went very well and one of the folks at least complimented me effusively. Unfortunately, HR never asked about salary requirements before I came in and they were looking for someone about 25K under my current salary. They apologized for this mistake. Also, they had mostly junior people and I had more experience and expertise than the hiring manager, who was the least receptive woman I talked with and kept emphasizing salary. The last thing was that they never even contacted me or emailed me that I did not get the job, which really leaves a bad taste in your mouth about the professionalism of the HR department and company in general. Oh well, it was a fun day nevertheless. I may not have accepted an offer anyway because the commute involves navigating LA airport everyday and it is awful. Last thing is, although they call the position Product Manager, it is not. It's a junior level Business Systems Analyst position and unfortunately the people in their CIO org are too inexperienced to know the difference.

The algebra section of the testing phase seems a bit too much. It's not very hard, but you definitely review before hand. I don't mean the simple review you get in the appointment email. You should really review your algebra/word problems thoroughly. Be the first to answer this question
