What do you think the role of IT is in business?

I responded it could be an asset if used correctly and tailored to the individual company.

I'd say that it can be one of the distinguishing factors in how a business operates, because what your people do is the one thing different from everything else. All of the software and hardware you have is all commodity off the shelf, your salaries are basically going to be similar to your competitors, but it's what your people can do that can make you something different out in the world or just another anonymous company same as everyone else.

Why do you want to work for UCSF and are you willing to tough it out for at least a year?

After the introductory questions of the history of me after a certain point the questions were experience based such as when you hit a road block what did you do, what processes did you improve, what did you do when something out of process crossed your path, etc. all of which was on a printed questionnaire.

Implement an algorithm that takes two numbers and returns the result of the first number to the power of the second.

They wanted some technical explanations (things like OOP, design patterns, etc.). They also asked about previous work experience and project examples.

Everyone seems disorganized and lacking in people skills. It made a bad impression.

The job is a part-time (50~80%). Is it okay for you?
