Sales representative interview questions shared by candidates
What is your 10 year plan with the company - threw me off guard because I hadn't really though that far ahead.4 Answers
I told them I would like to work in sales then move into being a network tech, as I am getting my CCNA soon.
Terrific answer to a dumb question. Their process is lengthy. I believe they are in a hiring freeze at this point. Be persisteny, call/email once or twice weekly until they either hire you or tell you that you didn't get the job.
Guarantee the interview stops and you're offered the job after this answer or at very least set you far apart from other candidates.. works in every interview even for a corporate job. Hope this helps. In 10 years i want to be in a management position. Leading my own team and working toward challenging targets. To achieve this goal, my short term objectives are to: step 1..establish myself within your team and learn as much as i can about your products and services in order to maximize all selling opportunities. step 2..I'm Naturally driven by achieving financial targets so I want to understand the commission structure in more detail to make sure that i achieve targets consistently. Step 3. I want to make contact with all my new accounts, (a) to understand all my customers and their needs and (b) develop plans for them for the next 2, 4, and 6 years. Step 4.. After consistently achieving targets over a long period of time, I will put together a training plan with my manager, understanding the skills i would need to develop in order to achieve my target of leading and developing my own team. By breaking down the 10 year plan into smaller and manageable chunks, I believe it provides me with clarity and direction needed to achieve this goal.
There are benefits to keeping it concise, but also to making it lengthy and detailed. If it were me, I might just say that in 10 years I saw myself at the forefront of Verizon in a high ranking management position at headquarters. While I know that I have profound sales and marketing skills, I also know I am good with people and organizing workflow around tasks to accomplish projects both on the macro and micro level.
What do you expect to get from an MBA?2 Answers
This is incredibly subjective and borderline rude to ask in an interview. Be careful how to craft a response for a company that doesn't value their employees' education.
Don't interview here if you are recently laid off rom a position as the interview process is bruising to say the least. HR needs to work out a better way of letting candidates know they didn't get the job other than sitting them down like they are being fired. A simple folllow up email or phone call the next day will suffice. It is a lot to ask candidates to do mutiple projects over an entitire day and then "fire" then from the interview. Very unnecessary
Paper Company A sells 8x8 White Standard Copy for $9, Paper Company B sells the same product for $5. Why in the world would someone pay Paper company A $9 for a product they could get for $5?3 Answers
Be creative ;) have fun and think about the customer.
If somebody purchased an identical product for $9 instead of $5 it could be location and possibly the customer appreciates buying locally and supporting a local company than purchasing paper at a cheaper rate online where they can't build a relationship with the company.
This is a classic question to ask a Sales candidate, as it weeds out those candidates who can sell "value", from those who rely upon selling "price." An effective Sales professional, will sell the value of a product or service, and successfully close a sale, when value is aligned with a customer's pain-point[s], and provides a solution to a customer's need. One must look beyond the proverbial price-tag, and identify the value-adds of a said product or service offering, and how it provides an effective solution to customer need. In this case of seemingly identical paper products, value-adds to consider could be, reduced order fulfillment timeframe, product availability, exemplary customer support, a more flexible/convenient order/payment process, etc.
If I was a drink what drink would I be?2 Answers
Crystal Light, its refreshing, keeps you balanced, and like the colors they are happy colors and so is my personality.
Water, our most important consumable is the BEST thing to drink, as it has NUMEROUS benefits, including, but not limited to clearer skin, healthier hair, no bloating as people get when drinking carbonated drinks, and has ZERO carbohydrates; keeping blook sugar from spiking and causing other ailments. Water is SAFE, which is what I want for others and myself.
How would you handle a situation where a doctor cancels last second before a lunch and learn?3 Answers
Would suggest using the budget on another high-performing office in the territory to make best use of budget and to influence the business that matters most.
One possible answer: "I have actually had that happen to me. Fortunately, the food had not yet been paid for. Since the staff had all been prepared to attend the lunch and learn, I arranged for me to still meet with the staff, just without the food. During the (now non-lunch) meeting, I was able to present to the staff the features and benefits of my products *as they related specifically to them in their daily dealings with their patients*... I made sure to emphasize the ways that, by prescribing my medication, the physician would be 1) helping the patient in XYZ way, and 2) allieviating some of the staff's on-the-job hassle XYZ way (through fewer call-backs, or as the case may be). The staff booked me for a follow-up lunch in a couple of weeks. During that follow-up lunch and learn, I was able to finally have the long-detail discussion that I had originally planned to have with the physician with the added benefits of having the staff on my side, echoing what they had experienced, in the past few weeks, as benefits of my products."
If staff is available and agrees to lunch and learn continue to feed the staff and present to them your product. Staff are the extra eyes and ears of the physician and are also important in pharm. Remember besides TV commercials, word of mouth is also powerful!
Why do you want this job?2 Answers
I was told by the interviewer all about how difficult and demanding the job was, and I was then asked in an almost perplexed way why it was I would even want the job. This is to make sure you know what you are getting into and they can be sure you will rise to meet the challenges. Tactic to weed out the unsure that may be a waste of their training expenses. Be confident. This is a job where the harder you work - the more you make, so be sure to emphasize that you understand that and are motivated to make the most you can for you and possibly your family.
i can do it
How were your metrics measured?4 Answers
They were looking for Sales metrics and my previous jobs did not have any. They should have known that from looking at my resume before I came onsite.

Maybe the reason you haven't been hired is because you decided to take the cowardly approach of writing a review here and defaming the company using obviously sensitive internal stories and information from your friends. Maybe they could tell you were this type of person, or maybe you reeked of desperation so bad from applying numerous times, they felt you had a hidden agenda. There are many reasons people don't get hired, in this case I'm doubting that being a person of color has to do with it....also, do Asians not count as being people of color? Interesting. I don't work here and I don't really intend to ever, just thought you should get an honest opinion.
What are your negative aspects?2 Answers
Answer something that could be perceived as positive.
My most significant negative aspect is my difficulty delegating duties to others. I always want to ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction and sometimes I don't always trust that someone else will provide that.
