How do you feel working remotely and alone ?

2 Answers

I've worked from remotely / from home several times in my career, and there is a real difference between working in a large office and by yourself. Fortunately there are many technology solutions to help overcome this -- email, collaborative screen sharing, conf calls, telepresence etc... But the real answer to this question is about the character of the person, not what technology is available (even at a tech company). My answer to this question would be that, in my case, I have worked at home by choice (I live in a nice place), and because of the lack of daily contact with co-workers there is an inherent "pressure" to be more visible than if you are in the office every day. It's also worth noting that I have established a clear policy that my choice of location can _never_ be an issue for others. Therefore if you need me on the phone at 3:00a.m., I'll be there. Likewise if you need me on a plane to Asia tomorrow. Less

How would you explain QR codes to someone who has no idea what they are?

2 Answers

I just said that I'd first figure out the technical background of the person - and then explain it to them in terms of something that they are already familiar with - for example, if I were to explain it to my mom, I would just compare QR codes with Barcodes that she already knows about. Less

There's quite an extended back and forth in actual interviews for questions like this, so nothing quite like real practice. The Prepfully NetApp Technical Marketing Engineer experts have actually worked in this role, so they're able to do an honest-to-God accurate mock, which really puts you through the paces. prepfully.com/practice-interviews Less

had to decline to answer

There's a lot of elements to typically cover in these questions, clarifications, scoping, making sure you're answering the actual question the interviewer is looking for you to answer, etc. Could be worth doing a mock interview with one of the Prepfully Cohesity Technical Marketing experts... they've worked in the role so they clearly know how to get through the interview. prepfully.com/practice-interviews Less
