"Employers hiring technical writers want candidates with the technical knowledge and written communication skills to simplify complex concepts. In an interview, be prepared to discuss your writing experience and provide an example of a time you explained a difficult idea to a group or classroom. Your interviewer may also quiz you on technical concepts or ask you to engage in a written exercise."
When did you graduate from college?2 Answers
Please note that this question is legal (high school greaduation date is not). Date isn't relevant, however, unless you need to know about training versus education. One hopes the "name" colleges Google likes to hire from provides its alumni with educations, not how-to classes.
Interview questions that could be used to infer a candidate's age are generally considered inappropriate and off-limits by most companies. Sounds like Google needs to do a better job of training interviewers.
