The right coach can make an organization as successful as possible. When employers interview potential coaches, they are interested in an individual's leadership skills, communication techniques, and personal approach to the position. Be prepared to talk about what coaching means to you and how you would handle various situations as the leader of a team.
Here are three top coach interview questions and how to answer them:
How to answer: Employers are interested in getting to know coaches on a personal level. They want to know why you want to be a leader. Explain your relationship with coaching and why you're passionate about the position. Additionally, prove you did your research by explaining why working with the specific team is so important to you.
How to answer: Interviewers want to know if you can identify problems within a team and if you can use problem-solving skills to improve the team's situation. They also want to gain a stronger understanding of your communication abilities to know if you can properly discuss problem-solving solutions with children and young adults.
How to answer: Criticism can come from team members, parents, and other coaches. Employers want to make sure you can handle criticism in a healthy, productive way. Use this question as an opportunity to explain a time when you received a critique and used it to your advantage.

I find it deplorable that such large companies sully their reputations by not keeping potential employees informed. Sadly, when companies treat me this way I make it a point to stop wasting my money at their establishments. I also tell people I know and meet of this and, if I am lucky they stop spending money there as well (assuming they care about more than their own employment status). Less

Today, lets be real, company's are looking for candidates who can provide results, uphold the companys image - "candidates appearance", intellectual, and strong background with coaching and developing of staff. Too many times candidates feel that they are the right choice for a job, but the reality is your not the right choice based on your appearance, average interview, and lack of experience. Every answer given to a question may not be the right answer in regards to the company and the position you are applying for. If you are not hired, or receive an offer within the first 2 weeks of an interview, you probably not the right candidate. You failed, move on to the next opportunity. "Just a thought." Less
