I answered yes and explained that I worked with a printer manufacturing company for 7 years and built printers from the ground up adding all parts needed to build a printer into SAP. I also worked for a chemical manufacturing company and put requisition in SAP to order supplies and furniture for 30 associates on my team. Less
HR VP asked about my what my relevant experiences were from my prior positions and why I wanted this position. She also asked what my desired salary was. VP of Program Accounts more or less told me about the needs of the position and asked how I thought I would be able to meet those needs. More casual interview than that with HR.

I just demonstrated how my current skillset was transferable and relevant even though I didn't have "industry" experience. That seems to be a big thing with them. I honestly believe that if my functional manager didn't have her mind set on me, they would have passed me up. Here I am 3 years later and have far exceeded all their expectations. Less
