"When hiring account executives, employers are looking for candidates with the communication and sales skills to find and acquire new clients. In an interview, be ready to discuss your experience sourcing new business opportunities, familiarity with sales strategies, and ability to close deals with clients."
There is a list of questions describing specific sales experiences, problems with customers and post sales follow up, and how the prospective employee may have or would handle them. Be prepared to write about past sales, both successful and unsuccessful, detailing how you handled/overcame various objections, common and uncommon. Tell your story honestly. Be specific!
As with any job interview, preparation is key. Arrive dressed professionally, well-groomed, on time, relaxed and well-rested. Read all essay questions thoroughly before writing your answers. Some mention of your past creative sales presentations, leading to strong closing, is beneficial. Ask questions! This is as much as an interview for you as it is for your prospective manager, to assure a good fit for all parties involved.
