A market research analyst is responsible for surveying customer preference and statistical data in order to support customers during their decision-making process regarding product designs, prices, and promotions. The successful market researcher will be able to analyze autonomously qualitative data, trends, strategies, and competition aiming at increasing competitiveness. Majority of market research analysts are employed by marketing agencies varying in size with different companies and industries.

A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Statistics along with demonstrable experience is required for market research analyst positions. Successful candidates possess excellent analytical and numerical skills and are deeply creative with great problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities for Market Research Analyst

  • Gather and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations
  • Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis

  • Working knowledge with CRM programs
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
  • Deep knowledge of data warehousing, and mining
  • Advise clients or senior management on the best ways to use provided data
