    Great if you are getting into a well-established role with defined areas of operation. Can be a very lucrative position. If you join an office in a well-established office with an established Recruiting function, and have the experience and drive, you can do very well.


    I have previous experience in this area and made over six figures in the first couple of years, wso my performance was not the problem, but the lack of direction I was given as to exactly WHAT my role and the LOCATIONS of my role were to entail. I was 100% commission and I was given a lot of Busines Development work and permanent placement roles were almost nonexistent. This position had been outsourced to the competion for the past several years as this office focused almost solely on Consulting.

    Advice to Management

    Please do not hire anyone as an Executive Recruiter without really knowing which market (cities) you are going to have them focus on and also have them do a lot of business development work (not selling recruiting or consulting) without giving this person some type of salary. It is not fair to have a person work a very ambiguous job with little guidance on what is going on in the current office environment, and pay them absolutely NOTHING. After three months of 60+ weeks, I called it quits. I should have been paid at least an hourly rate for the recruiting work. I was referred all candidates for another market area that we found out later upper manangement did not want us developing. I was taken advantage because of unclear expections, lack of how the processed with the office practice managers worked and that I was competing for clients with the same person we had been outsourcing our orders to. I was put in an impossible situation and wasted my time for no money and I didn't even get my entire expense check reimbused (and it was all legit and documented.) So, basically I LOST money working for your company.
