I worked at Aegis Living part-time (Less than a year)
Residents are a joy to be around and get to know and/or assist. Outside activities and programs (musicians, worship service) are inspiring for residents. Some caregivers provide excellent care.
Staff shortages, insufficient training and a hush-hush culture rather than team-oriented approach to problem-solving leads to low morale and poor resident care, high staff and management turn-over and, most importantly, an unsafe and unhappy place for residents, especially in its memory care (i.e. Living Neighborhood) community room.
Advice to Management
Don't reward staff who neglect their responsibilities and lack motivation to do a better job by enabling their behavior and attitude to continue while punishing those who try to improve conditions for residents by reducing their hours, blaming them for lowering employee morale and permanently silencing their voice for change by asking for their resignation.
