I worked at Aegis Media full-time (More than a year)

Laid back atmosphere (to a point). Work hard, play hard mentality (though in my opinion the work certainly overpowers the play) so you kinda have to have the right mentality and attitude to fit in.

It's important to understand how Aegis works. The company has a lot of companies under its umbrella. All employees are ultimately Aegis employees though there is a difference. Employees who are hired for an acquired daughter or sister company don't really refer to themselves as Aegis employees as they don't really interact with Aegis. More importantly, they couldn't care less about anything pertaining to Aegis as long as their direct supervisor at their office is happy with them. Only senior management from those offices and some execs interact with Aegis. However, if you are an actual "Aegis" employee, it's a whole other ball game. As an "Aegis" employee who is hired for an acquired company under Aegis, you are not interviewed by the office/business unit you will actually work for. You are interviewed by the Aegis corporate office in Manhattan, who knows nothing about the environment and work style of the office they are placing you in. And like the other poster said they make acquisitions left and right and at the drop of a hat and hire people to work at their "new" offices. The old timers in those "new" offices have different mindsets and cultures ingrained in them from years past, and may not necessarily share the Aegis values you are led to believe they do. You will end up torn in non-ending disputes and battles between what your Aegis supervisor wants and what the head hanchos of the office you work at want. So be very careful about where you will be working. And definitely ask if the office you are going to be working at is a "true" Aegis office or an acquired office under Aegis. If it's an acquired one then I wouldn't recommend it for the above reasons.

    Advice to Management

Send the candidate to the office they will work full time in and let them meet senior management so that they truly know what they're in for and so that everybody is on the same page.
