I worked at Alpine Electronics of America full-time
A couple of good engineering managers, a bunch of friendly and skilled engineers. Nice brand, nice place and a lot of opportunities in learning new technologies because of the nature of the company. HR is nice, IT is nice, the support team is nice. They will help you in personal level if there is a need. Benefit, Insurance, PTO, flexibility and core hours with 9/80 are above of all. You'll be happy if you can get through political nonsense within a couple of managers. (Spoiler Alert - Read Cons section).
Behind the back stabbing is the most popular in Research Department among, guess, who. Little raise per year. Manager can make you not get promoted for a few years if you have different opinions on some subject matter. Always take it personal. And take any credits that can get from any one by any means. It'll be great if the head of the company would sanitize those people.
Advice to Management
Go get some engineering skills (this advice is just only for the pretend engineering managers) without political nonsense. Or better yet, just get the business for the company instead of running around having behind the door meeting with a couple of allies after group/division meeting.
