I have been working at AmericInn part-time
Manager and assistant manger are both awesome--both work all capacities and know the place in and out and have good people skills. Coworkers work exceptionally hard and pull together to put guests first. Staff works together to help each other for scheduling flexibility.
Pay is low and no benefits other than 1/2 price hotel stays at other hotels. My location is great but if you had a bad manager it could be ugly. Front desk clerks also do laundry which is a pain in peak season. My manager puts extra staff on as backups but not all hotels do this.
Advice to Management
Reward good managers and listen to them--they know the business in and out. If they say they need new carpeting, etc. they really need it. Guests notice infrastructure decline--don't milk the cow dry.
