I worked at AppleOne (Less than a year)

They were very quick to get me in and interview for temp assignments. I was hot to trot because at the time I had been unemployed for a number of months and had tried everything on my own. They latched onto that desperation and brought me in quickly. I was in the system and out the door with a few prospective assignments immediately after having interviewed.

I cannot adequately describe just how much of a negative experience I had with Apple One. Right out of the blocks, I told them I wanted a position in entertainment and that the entire reason I went to them was because a family friend recommended them specifically because they told me that Disney works with Apple One with staffing temp positions (I have later learned that there are entertainment-specific temp agencies but had to learn that on my own). Instead of telling me themselves, they instead tried to push me into assignments that I did not want and had nothing to do with entertainment and would not have given me any transferable skills. They repeatedly lied about aspects of the assignments they were trying to sell me on in order to convince me to interview. Then, during my interview, when I mentioned these chances for growth within the company to my potential employers that I had been told by my representative, the employers became confused and frustrated because none of what I was told had been true. Then, when I mentioned this to my representative after the interview, she got very mad with me for discussing growth potential within the company with the client. It was clear that my best interests were nowhere near the equation and that my representative only wanted the commission she would have made off of me. I am now happily involved with a different temp agency.

    Advice to Management

Remember why you're in the business- not for commission, but for helping set-up people with great opportunities.
