    I have been working at Apttus full-time (More than 3 years)


    The people, product, and opportunity for growth. The SE team is brilliant, enthusiastic and encouraging. We enjoy solving prospects challenges as a team and in return all of us absorb the knowledge and skills to make us better SEs. If you come into the office you are rewarded with a good laugh; our VP learning how to ride the hands free electronic scooter. Management is encouraging and provides hands on support when needed. Without this I would have never taken the leap into a leadership role, which has transformed my life. I encourage my direct reports to find a work life balance that works for them. For example; we have flexible work hours, working from home, unlimited PTO and if they work more than a reasonable amount in a given week encourage them to take a personal day. We are rewarded as a team with bonuses. And if you stand out and express an interested, you are rewarded individually with promotions and pay increases. The SE team likes to hire internally for management positions. "Work hard, play hard" is a common phrase. The company is growing daily, but we still win and lose as one team. There is helpful cross-team collaboration and everyone can have an impact on the culture, the product development, and the custom's success. I feel in control of my own destiny here. It's like a startup but with the resources of a bigger company. HR provides us great perks like membership to a credit union, free massages, discounted gym memberships, $3 lunches, many (healthy) snacks and drinks monthly happy hours, nutrition coaching and financial planning. I heard they are building out a game room too, so we can take needed breaks and really tune out work for a bit. The office is near a great walking/running path and many restaurants. They recently added unlimited PTO and a mothers room. I was a prospect of Apttus first, then a customer and now an employee. I joined the extended sales team because I in my 8 years as a Salesforce admin there was never a better product on the market. They are still the most capable and comprehensive solution for CPQ and CLM, Billing is maturing quickly. I love how they look at the bigger picture and take the opportunity to improve the business process overall, not just automate broken processes. And as an SE I get direct access to the product teams, and see my suggestions (and proposed designs) become features! At the end of the day I go home knowing I had a meaningful and positive impact on my team, my products, and my customers. It's not for everyone but it's the best place for me. I know when to call it a day and head home with the satisfaction of a job well done. New doors are opening every day, and I get to decide where I want to go next. It's so good here that I recommended my brother! And he's been here 2+ years too.


    It's a growing company, with that there comes "Storming" (1. Forming 2.Storming 3. Norming 4. Performing). People are figuring out what part they have to play, how to do their jobs efficiently, where to focus their energy, what is the new normal and how to navigate the new processes. Parking is limited, but there are nearby public transit options. Space is limited, we are doubled up at desks again, but this will ease up as we expand to new floors in the office. It is a great reason to work from home. In typical tech fashion, females and minorities are under represented (not sure about pay, but if the marketplace is any indicator this could be an issue). Some teams are better than others. It's tempting to get caught up in the rumor mill. I've never worked at this large a company so I am not sure if that is common. That seems to happen when you hire many people quickly. But this has caused issues in the moral of some teams. I keep focused on work and it doesn't bother me. People are people. Other people on Glassdoor have been blunt about the "attitude" of some employees. I have heard people say mean things. They often regret it and apologize. But if not I point it out to them and I address it through the proper channels. To be clear, we are all people and we all say stupid things from time to time. Everyone here has the same intent and we mean well, we are passionate and that makes us foul-able. As a manger, I protect my team. As an individual, I influence the culture at Apttus. The expectation is clear: treat people with respect. 401K matching would be nice.

    Advice to Management

    Don't lose focus on customer service. This has been getting better and should keep going that way. Without happy customers you won't get new ones. Strengthen the products we already have. It's the best, but it can be better. Give enough time and attention to this and the product will sell itself. Rise above the drama in the market place by going back to the basics. We've done well taking the high road so far, even when other companies sling personal mud around (shame on you, you know who you are). Apttus doesn't have to stoop to this level to win a deal, we have the better product and our team has the passion to make our customers successful.
