I have been working at Assurance full-time
The culture is great. Generous work/life balance policies. Outstanding learning and education courses to further your career.
Everything is mostly great, but pay seems to be pretty low compared to equivalent positions at other companies in Chicago. Large pay gap between sales, management and service employees. Doesn't follow through on all of the perks and benefits they claim to offer. I'd be willing to give up most of the perks for even a modest increase in pay. I see a lot of nice/pretty things/events and enjoy them, but wish that money would be put into payroll instead of perks.
Advice to Management
I realize that "competitive pay" is probably written as boilerplate for all company bios, but don't claim to offer competitive salaries if they are in fact on the middle to low end. Obviously people still choose to work here and there is great opportunity, but it makes the company feel more like a stepping stone vs. a destination. When an employee submits a request or asks for one of the many employee perks actually follow up with them and follow through on what is advertised. Requests have been submitted and no action is made on the company's end. Don't try, strive, evaluate, take into consideration, or say other corporate speak. Just do the things that are promised. Do or do not. There is no try.
