I worked at Assurant as a contractor (Less than a year)
Worked as a Security Administrator. Team Lead was a very nice person and was a good trainer. I loved the job and the work. Some of the team members were great to work with.
When I had questions, many times I could not get the Team Lead's help because she was too busy giggling and laughing with other coworkers of hers. When I started going to other team members for help, I was told that I could not bother them, to only go to the her, the Team Lead. However, it was perfectly fine for the young Intern they brought on to ask anyone for help. They have an extremely high turnover rate in this department.
Advice to Management
Get the current Team Lead to retire from the company or have her actually do the work with the team to help out. She works long hours because she spends too much time socializing with other coworkers instead of doing her work. There is no room for advancement here. Management sits in St. Louis, MO or Miami, FL and they don't really know what goes on. New people coming to the team are treated poorly in this cliquish department.
