    I have been working at BNP Media full-time (More than a year)


    Good benefits. Able to work from home on snow days. Nice office area. Christmas Bonus.


    Most everyone experiences: Low pay, long hours, and high stress. At this company there is nepotism like I have never seen before. Husband and wives, sisters and countless family members working at this company. Therefore there is favoritism and no accountability. “Work your way”, or “work as you go” which means you do not punch a clock. This Is just a form of getting sweat shop hours without overtime or pay increase. It is impossible to really take a vacation as there are no set hours so you break your back trying to catch up on thousands of emails when you return from any time off be it a vacation sick day or even the weekend as many of the staff is catching up on their work at night or on the weekend. You may leave on a Friday in good shape and return on Monday morning backed up by 9AM, It is impossible to organize or stay on track of your work load. No one can take a lunch hour, and if you do, your email is backed up with people looking for you at noon. HR has no idea of what is going on because they do not offer performance reviews therefore there is no annual pay increase and no job protection. If a Manager wants to bring in their friend or a family member, a job can be created or someone can be let go to open a position. Anyone is at risk for losing their job at a moment’s notice based on a Manager or Supervisor’s whim. There is constant turn around and very little job security. Good people leave fast. The place looks like a college dorm. Seventy-five percent of the staff has just graduated and walks around the office dressed in beat up jeans with their nose in their phones. Check out the lunchroom or the elevator sometime.

    Advice to Management

    The CEO’s never take the time to meet with anyone but the Managers and the Publishers. Try having a once a year review regarding your managers and hear what your employees really have to say. Time to evaluate your department management.
