I worked at Bart & Associates full-time (More than 5 years)

It has been a company that has been around for years. They have a lot of older applications that are constantly being updated with new features. Some written well, some not, but nothing too complicated. Most people are friendly, but really there's nothing else good to say. I'm struggling just to fill this box.

Current management is ethically and intellectually challenged. You ask for training to better yourself- they say they will provide it to you and they don’t. They say they are ideas driven, but if you present an idea- not only are you immediately shot down you are labeled a “problem child”. With the change in upper management, things have gone down hill. Promises are made to several people, even in writing and not followed through. They show zero compassion for their employee's interests or concerns. If you voice your opinion on something or tell them something they weren't aware of, regardless of the context, they will use this against you and you will be viewed as a problem. Upper management causes issues with and infuriates their clients on a regular basis and passes the blame onto their employees. Ironically enough, they only care about money, yet make decisions that hurt their bottom line and more importantly, permanently tarnish their relationships with clients. This is why they lose contracts. It doesn't matter if the client is old or new. For some clients, it has come to the point where they had no choice but to move on to a competitor. The members of upper management will quickly turn down any request for additional training to strengthen your skills, so don't even try. You receive absolutely no training whatsoever to even do the job you are assigned. This inevitably leads to performance issues down the road, no matter how skilled the employee. Aside from contracted developers (especially if you are liked by upper management), everyone else's salary is laughable. It's not about the money, but you cannot ignore that fact. It has been said by many that this company will no longer exist in the next couple years. If the same people remain in charge, this will be a reality. Do yourself a favor and don't put yourself in a situation where you are looking for a new job because of individuals who do not know how to run a company. They claim they do- but they will NOT grow.

    Advice to Management

Bring it back to the days where you cared about your employees. Where management followed through and it wasnt a popularity contest.
