I worked at British Red Cross full-time (More than a year)

The overall vision and mission of the British Red Cross cannot be faulted, and it does feel amazing to be a part of what the organisation aspires to achieve. If you don't want to be pushed you'll enjoy it, I struggled to find enough work to fill a 35 hour week and was given so little opportunity to do what I had been hired to do that I felt like I was genuinely over-paid.

Sadly the internal politics and lack of effective working structures and practices make it virtually impossible to achieve any kind of progress. The culture is stagnant and it's full of people who have been doing the same job for decades and are completely averse to any kind of change.
