I worked at Capstone Turbine (Less than a year)
I loved the job that i was hired to do. I find and fix problems in electrical systems. The work was very interesting.
This company allows underlings (non-management) to make up new job requirements. The hiring personnell (i.e. management and human resources) do not communicate with the designated "supervisors." The "supervisors" are allowed to create new job requirements at their whim if they feel threatened and want an intelligent new employee gone. In my case heavy lifting requirements were imposed which i could not perform. I was laid off despite excellent performance in the arena for which i was hired.
Advice to Management
Communicate with your "supervisors!!!" Know exactly what they want before you hire someone who does not have the qualities (i.e. brute strength) that will be needed for the job!!!
