Good benefits package with generous leave allowances. Employment stability - few people are fired or laid off. Unique work setting given the differences between government and private sector employers.
Tribal politics make this a difficult environment in which to work currently. Some people are constantly afraid of retaliation and others use this fear as a tool for bullying them. There also seem to be under-the-table deals that drive decision-making.
Advice to Management
Hands-on supervision is necessary to reduce hostile and toxic work environments, but this also requires support from tribal leaders.
