Affordable and comprehensive healthcare plans, important and necessary education option for low-income student of Chicago, opportunity to transfer campuses

Politics- The environment is very political. The District Office consists of highly-paid executives who prefer to run the colleges as businesses instead of educational institutions, and the environment on campuses is very much Us vs. Them. Campus administrators with the best of intentions are often limited in their ability to innovate or improve student service due to restraints from District Office. Compensation- All salaries at CCC are made public, and it is very obvious to campus staff that all the big money goes to District Office Administration. Non-bargained for staff are not guaranteed annual increases, and did not get any increases in 2015. However, District Office administrators were given large increases throughout the year due to "title changes" or "adjustments." It is very unfortunate to see administrator salaries rise when tuition increased dramatically in 2015. Culture- There is no district-wide investment in employee engagement. Flexible work or remote work schedules are non-existent, and the mentality in most departments is that if you don't like it, there are candidates lined up around the block ready to take your spot.

    Advice to Management

Invest in employee engagement surveys and actively try to improve company culture.
