You are around people (customers) that love motorcycles and if you work for this company you should love them too. More of a retail experience and less of a traditional motorcycle industry or dealer experience. This is one of the few jobs that allows your work to be your passion. Pay is fair for most store and field leadership positions.
Field leadership is not strong and there are very unrealistic goals set for stores by people that have no idea what the day to day reality is of running a retail store and taking care of your customer. Payroll continues to be cut to levels that do not allow store coverage by more than one person many hours each week in most stores. In store training is antiquated. Current applicant screening is over complicated and eliminates good candidates.
Advice to Management
In the past this company was run by people who knew and loved motorcycles, they are no more. Current management (they are not leaders) only know numbers and spreadsheets. Corporate and upper field leadership needs a serious change from micro managers looking out for their own interest to people who know and love motorcycles, participate in the sport and have a genuine desire to help customers and store team members. Make your customers and potential customers feel like you support the sport by participating in regional and national motorcycle events (think race team sponsorship or support of a race series, Sturgis etc...).
