I have been working at Dollar General full-time (More than 8 years)
Very stable company, with a lot of growth. The executives are very accessible. In my position, I am able to make my own schedule, for the most part. The bonuses are nice and obtainable. They also give stock shares that vest 1/3 per year and that is real nice.
They are growing too big and too fast. They try to cut too many corners. They do no support out lying stores, seem to forget the country is larger than the corporate area. They stopped authorizing repairs, floor cleaning, cut labor, and systems are old. I wish they would invest in quality before they expand more.
Advice to Management
Kind of said it above. They need to consider the challenged of outlying stores more. They need to stop growing as fast and invest in improving the quality of what we have. I keep hearing promises of new equipment that does not arrive. I have been waiting two years to have doors, cameras, and system repairs.
