I worked at Ducommun full-time (More than 3 years)
Production workers lookout for each other as much as they can.The support from the group helps in coping with the high production goals. There is no need to worry about any random drug testing, half the company would fail.
"Old School" management with the "We have always done it that way" logo! The production supervisors have no formal training. Because they have been employed there for so long, that is all the qualification needed. So the only experience shared with the labor is "Get to work" or "We need this done fast". Unlike the Production side, some of the upper management has college, just not the V.P. of Operations? Bottom line- Money first, nothing else is matters.
Advice to Management
Try coaching the production workers, share all the trade experience with those who need it!
