I worked at EBSCO full-time (More than 10 years)

The company is one of the largest in Birmingham, AL and can be a stepping stone to better opportunities at other companies. They are trying hard to reinvent themselves now, so the company may be improving. They try to care about employees.

The company was going through big management shifts in 2013 with the change in leadership (the Stevens family is not so heavily involved in day-to-day activities). The old guard, the good ol' boys, were treated like kings when the company did well, but some were not treated well upon leaving. If you leave, you are the enemy. That's just weird in this day and age. The company does not pay women well and does not seem progressive toward women in management other than title--women didn't have "a seat at the table" when I worked there.
