Management doesn't care about you as a person. Was told I would "get to keep my hours" when our juice department was #1 in the ENTIRE COMPANY, and immediately criticized about how the floor should be cleaner. I watch workers come in on days off, steal product from food service and just leave. Food service managers know about this and don't fire these people because if they did there wouldn't BE anybody to fill their position, its already furiously understaffed as it is with hours being cut back more and more with no real reason as to why. Drugs like cocaine and pills are commonplace in our kitchens and is such common knowledge its an inside joke. The pay rate is a joke and they outright lied to me about how raises were set up (that my pay would go up with each department I became proficient in, is not the case at all it goes up a whopping 3% each year.) There is a lot of talk about positive changes but I've seen zero follow through with any of it. Managers make promises to employees and don't keep their word, essentially they all seem to be there just to get the paycheck and not much more. Quality has gone down and prices have gone up. The customers are the absolute worst, our workers have been threatened with violence by customers and they're still allowed back in and are some of the most entitled people I've ever met. Discounts for veterans gets cut from %10 all day everyday to %5 only on Thursdays, straight up disrespectful. Favoritism is rampant and the most inexperienced or drugged up employees stay and move up because managers like them. In short, just don't work here. This company has lost its way and is sinking very fast.
Advice to Management
Get rid of the druggies and thieves. Stop accommodating crazy and giving customers anything they want in the world because they're being rude I.e. Grow a backbone. Stop lying to customers about the quality of your products, its no different than HT or Trader joes. Treat your workers like actual people and pay a livable wage without imposing more hour cuts, forcing people to quit.
