I worked at Earth Fare full-time (More than a year)
The best thing is the co-workers. I enjoyed working with 99% of my co-workers. I can't say that about every job I've had. There are still some decent perks(time & a half on holidays, $10 off a pair of non-slip shoes). Also, if you're looking to move up quickly this is a company to do that.
Where to begin? The biggest one is the new owners who bought the company a few years back. They're taking a great laid-back company from Asheville and trying to corporatize it like every other supermarket, thus loosing what attracted a lot of employees to work there in the first place. I can't count how many long-time employees on the corporate level have left, and corporate is definitley running the place in the ground by trying to boost profiles at the moral of the workers, just so they can sell the company in 3-5 years to profit a couple million.
Advice to Management
Treat your hard working employees as well as you can. Do small things, like thank them everyday. To me, small things like that will help keep even the loyal employees around.
