Edelman – Seattle, WA
- Support and oversee communications strategy and initiatives for C-level business executives within the Microsoft Retail team - Develop… Edelman
Somewhat flexible if you have kids or a family. Work-life balance is prioritized and it's not difficult to ease back into work after having a child. Ability to telecommute is also offered.
First and foremost, the pay is embarrassing. Edelman brags about being the largest PR firm in the world, but salaries are truly dismal. They're simply no excuse for paying so little. Edelman has a large enough roster of clients to pay their employees more. It's disrespectful and exploitative to work employees as hard as they do while paying them so little. Furthermore, there is extreme favoritism and hierarchy here. People are permitted to be disrespectful and walk around with incredibly inflated egos. So many inappropriate and unprofessional behaviors are permitted and tolerated. Working here will drain you emotionally and psychologically - you put in so much and get very little in return. The name is good for a resume booster, but just know it's not much more than that. There is a very clear and defined ceiling that one can hit.
Advice to Management
Management should actually manage and handle situations rather than ignoring them completely or doing half-assed job. When you see something inappropriate is occurring, ADDRESS IT. Also, there is no much gossiping and nonsense. Be able to be communicative.
