Decent Pay, decent benefits, some flexibility, haven't seen engineering staff layoffs in years.
Lots of incompetent non-technical management. A good chunk of incompetent/lazy engineers. The company was restructured as a "matrix" organization roughly 9 months ago. This has been the worst thing I have ever seen. Instead of one or two "bosses" you now have 10 and none of them have the slightest idea of what you do or specialize in. How can you possibly run a company efficiently if the people in charge have the technical IQ of tree frogs, and the engineering staff is incorrectly labeled and titled? You can't.
Advice to Management
Abandon this "matrix" organization, and put some technically capable people in charge. Or at the very least give your engineering staff and technicians more specific/accurate titles. We aren't vending machine items but if you want to treat us that way at least label us correctly.
