I worked at First Advantage full-time (More than 5 years)
There is incredible opportunity to create something great! The new personnel all want to help. HR Leadership is strong, and continues to try to build processes that are world class. If Technology Delivery had that much capability the firm would be much further along.
CTO has picked incorrectly those he holds closest. Everyone else is to blame. No opportunity for true transparency. Company is hemorrhaging knowledge and talent, relying instead on cheap labor from India. At some point, you get what you pay for!
Advice to Management
1. CTO accountability. Its time for him to move on, otherwise, Technology will continue to run at 1/2 speed. (CTO has 2-3 persons that he believes do 80% of the work). If that's true...then there is a true outlook/output issue on the technology side. The only way to fix that is to move on. 2. Re-align quickly - Think about where the organization is, and look at key resources that were with First Advantage and left because they were targeted by the CTO's buddies (since they were a threat to control). Try to re-hire. I.e. Take an infusion of some of the knowledge that has just walked away in the last year!
