I have been working at Five Guys Burgers & Fries full-time

Having a secret shopper program that pays the employees for doing a good job is a huge incentive. Amounts vary based on how busy a store is but overall the atmosphere and the people are good company.

Pressure from the upper management on their managers to deliver a high quality product despite being strict on labor can often leave the shift short handed. The food is expensive, which has helped a little with labor but when you give a GM more room, they won't use it to make their own numbers look better. Lots of cleaning, which is also a pro as the company is probably one of the cleanest companies I've ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

You claim to have the best burger and expect such high expectations from your employees, if you want to really shine, pay them a little more. I've seen shift managers get paid double this at places like Jack in the Box and McDonalds and they don't require half the amount of work you request of your employees. Your shopper program has changed 3 times since I have been hired, every time it gets better, you guys do something to make it harder on us to get the shops. I do hope you guys actually take this advice to heart, I've seen good employees leave because of the kind of treatment we have gotten the past few years.
