Can somebody please explain to me why the CEO got an 8% increase while others get scraps?

Annual merit increase Dedicated coworkers Nice facility

According to a recent Fortune article on “The 5 most overrated CEOs” Greg Kenny’s compensation rose from $5 million in 2013 to $5.4 million in 2014. Because of the company’s new annual merit schedule, some employees received a meager 1-2% increase in Fall 2014 and got next to nothing in 2015. It was pretty creative financing by HR to scam the employees out of what was promised as an annual merit and then change up the schedule so that anyone that got an increase late in 2014 got screwed in 2015. Originally everyone was on an unknown schedule but then moved to annual merit schedule during the year, and then that was changed to a company wide merit schedule in March. There is no disclosure of where you are in range and compensation is very hush hush However it's no secret that the CEO got substantially paid. Lack of fair compensation, a long with the company’s poor business performance, has people leaving in droves. Those who remain are overworked and tired of being the last priority.

    Advice to Management

People need to be valued as a core asset to the business.
