Friendly Work Environment, Nice Office, Employee Benefits Good, HR Staff was incredibly nice,
I was sent there as a contract employee with no notice. This completely disrupted my family and activities that had been scheduled for months. When I got there, on a Friday, I was told I would be replacing someone who was leaving on Tuesday. The person providing the training talked at a very rapid rate, was at times impatient and condescending. They were under the impression that a key position, like Payroll, could be taught in those few days. I've been training Payroll Personnel for years and know that it takes months to get a company's process down. I was then taken to a conference room to be trained with others. The room was darkened for projection and I was expected to see the instructions, in a manual, in a dim room. By the time I got home there was a message not to come back. I was shocked because in my 30 years of working I've always received a top performer review. Never been asked to leave or not come back. Their reason: My Excel skills were not up to their requirements. I clearly told them in the interview that I had advanced excel training but never used them. This whole experience was a waste of my time and I'm sure the next person that gets sent there will be trained at an even faster pace. Good Luck!
