I have been working at HUD full-time
Pay is slightly better than most government agencies with the working grade hovering in the GS-12/13 range.
This department is a mess: reactive culture; disjointed communications; and no clear vision to make the agency relevant in the 21st century.
Advice to Management
Employees are satisfied with nearly every dimension of work life at HUD: pay; work life balance; meaningful work; and office environment. However, every year employees uniformly rate the culture, talent management, and managers poorly. Stop the improvement theater and hire leaders that can drive the mission of the agency forward.
