I have been working at Health Services for Children With Special Needs full-time (More than a year)
Great mission on paper to improve health of children with special needs. Good benefits. Great influence and position in community. Many staff have tenure longer than 5 or 10 years.
Leaders aren't visible or engaged in staff development. I worked here for 90 days and hadnt met the leader or got a feel for his presence throughout the company. Case Managers are the face of the company; many are frustrated and over worked primarily due to lack of positive reinforcement or well thought out direction from their leadership. Employees lack resources to feel empowered to do their job. One stream of revenue and the contract is daily placed at risk by employees who are too over worked to do a quality job. No advancement opportunities for qualified employees. Very political and Management often hires staff that are friends and unqualified or fit the needs of the position.
Advice to Management
Positive feedback to employees and start holding training and holding staff accountable for training and their job. I can't rate senior management has I have never met them nor do I feel their presence as leaders. Train the key leaders to be more effective and functional.
