HP was a fun environment to work in. They always had networking events, family fun days, bring your kids to work days, picnics, etc. They offered good health care benefits. Good on board training..
When I started in 2012 it was a great job, the compensation was great and they allowed employees to go on field visits and events with their field team. We had allowances to do team builders and I felt like upper management really cared about us. But one thing I learned quickly was that HP is ALWAYS changing. All of a sudden our compensations was decreased from base pay 40k to 30k with more emphasis on commissions, which was a huge loss for everyone in my department. There was little to no funding for team builders and outings, etc. Instead of working my way up I felt like I was working my way down. I had been working there for two years and my pay was cut drastically. I felt undervalued and under appreciated. Management began being micromanage by our new site VP and turnover rate increased tremendously.
Advice to Management
Don't decrease pay from people you have had working for you for 2 years. If you need to cut salaries begin with the new-hires.
