I worked at Hill + Knowlton as an intern (Less than a year)
Above minimum wage pay and working with some interesting clients.
Interns are expected to work at an AAE level without the opportunity for any real chance for advancement or any full time benefits. Don't expect any weekends free of overtime work and don't hope to take a couple days off without any severe backlash. Superiors vary from account to account but with my experience I was treated like I knew nothing, was always the one placed in blame when something came up negative with the client and was given little to no direction on most tasks.
Advice to Management
Either provide your interns with better benefits or set up a program to have the internship lead into a full-time position. Hiring interns instead of AAE's is not a legitimate solution. Most importantly look at the direct superiors to interns and make sure they can handle actually teaching individuals.
