I worked at Husky Energy full-time

Nice people, Calgary is a great place to live and work. If your expertise is in upstream, the field offices are what you might expect, nothing more or less.

No vision or strategy, leading to no accountability and less results. Husky continues to exist for one reason only, "it is better to own a poorly run oil company than any other poorly run company." So the single largest investor takes cash out in the form of dividends and sweetheart contracts; limiting re-investment in assets and people.

    Advice to Management

More than a slogan, define a vision and create a strategy that relies on accountablilty and results to acheive that vision. Roll the old gaurd out, find hungy, success driven replacements, although recruiting might be a challenge given the history and reputation. Invest more and hold the standards higher. Otherwise you will just be cutting dividends again.
