    Negative Outlook

My manager was excellent. My department worked 8-5 M-F only. Benefits were above average and good time off. Dubuque is a small town so you won't have to drive in traffic jams and many of us walked to work. Yes it's Mayberry USA.

Very unfriendly people. Awkward silences in elevator every day. This center ran data like an assembly line of cars. Many employees left with not enough skills to get a job since IBM pigeon-holes employees into doing one job. Transfers were almost impossible. Raises were slim. Budgets were cut each year from 2010-2014. Layoffs left my dept. from 25 down to 10. Dubuque IA is a boring town. Iowa has 7 months of cold and many many months of grey skies only. This center is down to 200-300 I hear. IBM shafted Dubuque and Columbia MO. Most of these jobs have gone to India now. IBM is out to protect its share holders. Doesn't care about it's employees.

    Advice to Management

It's not Management's fault. My manager was excellent.
