I worked at Inflection full-time (More than a year)

Work life balance is the best part. A very relaxed atmosphere that you can come in and out whenever and work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Free lunch everyday (even though it gets really old fast) and lot of benefits like happy hours and such. People here are also motivated and you'll rarely find people that are just slacking off.

Salaries are okay but not exactly competitive compared to the rest of Silicon Valley. Inflection as a whole is a very product oriented company but lacks a real engineering and data-driven culture. The current platform is written in an out-dated tech stack that literally no one wants to touch except for the platform team that keeps on patching it. It is the sole reason for the terrible attrition rate of the current engineers and why the engineering culture is also not geared to any open-sourced languages within this decade. Have a great idea to implement a feature in the backend? Not gonna happen when you have to go through so much red tape and outsourced engineering work. Lots of people with absolutely no technical knowledge at all are product managers and managing projects that they have no idea the engineering effort or timelines. The PM to actual worker ratio is also ridiculously high with it seeming like no one is doing any work. Inflection also caters itself as a data-driven organization but it really is not data-driven at all. People throw out random numbers in meetings that aren't backed up by any kind of evidence and run useless split tests based on design concepts without any real meaning to why the split test is being run. Mentorship is also a huge pain here. The high attrition rate means that no one is being mentored nor will ever get a mentor, so while it’s too beuracratic to get through red tape, it also doesn’t have the mentorship or experienced workers that can help with lots of knowledge you’d find at a big organization.

    Advice to Management

Please get some sense and replace the tech stack. If you want to still be a company in 5 years, the biggest issue would be the engineering culture.
