I have been working at Jobscience full-time (More than a year)
It is an interesting experience joining a company that has had a recent exodus of staff which have been as vocal on Glassdoor as this lot have been … Before I joined Jobscience about two months ago, I reviewed the comments here and mostly they looked like a normal mix of good and bad reviews. In recent weeks though I have been quite amazed at what seems like overt “bitterness” being spewed here on Glassdoor about the CEO and the company which has prompted me to write this unsolicited review. I can’t imagine what the culture was like here before I arrived and I can only talk of my own experience 2 months later... Jobscience is an energetic company continually looking at ways to improve recruiters' lives, be it by providing better ways to search for candidates using the software or by providing data on candidates that makes it easier and faster for recruiters to make a hire. There is a culture here in which people work hard and play hard together. I won’t lie, it is a bit of a “boys club” but show me a software company in the Bay Area that isn’t! The business agenda is driven by Ted Elliott the CEO and his father (this is true), they both work hard and expect the team to show an equal level of commitment. It’s a “personal” company, and it feels as though Ted cares about his employees and wants to see everyone be successful, if you don’t want to work and think work is play then it’s probably not the right place for you. Jobscience is hiring talented people to join the team as the company tackles this new growth phase, read all the reviews, the good, the bad and the ugly, but know this: It’s a new day at Jobscience. One where the future is brighter for those who are prepared to stake a claim in it.
Organizations that are owner-managed are not for everyone, if you want to work for a company with layers of process or policies, you won’t find that here, what you will find are some really good people and the opportunity to make an impact in your job if you are prepared to grab the opportunity.
