I worked at Lumber Liquidators full-time (More than 3 years)

depending what store you get to work which I was very lucky I got to work with a few really great guys. we all became pretty good friends. I think it was partly because we worked together 10- 12 hours a day 6 days a week. benefits cover 80/20 and covers most basic medications. if you love over time this is the place for you. and despite what I read in acouple other reviews in CA anyway vacation is paid out to you if you don't use it, you will normally get in mid to late Jan.

    1. a lot of safety violations like making us stand on the edge of the forks on the forklift and lifting us about 30 ft on to the roof. 2, having to climb bout 12 to 14 ft in between pallets to find product. 3. loading 80 lb boxes into an a-holes lifted truck while he stands their and says he can't help you because his back hurts. 4 our manager would make us take the daily deposits every night to the bank drop box. the thing is you have to use ur own car and 100% of the time we were clocked out. 5, you can never call HR or the regional to complain because at most there is only about 3 to 4 people total that work for the store so he will know who called and thats what they consider fully staffed. 6 a lot of the product is terrible I had people returning hardwood all the time just for a typical example 5 in wide Brazilian Cherry at random lengths, the customer would bring it back and say its different widths which we would respond that, that was typical of hardwood and your installer should know to put the same widths in the same row. the problem though was when the customer would point out the board would measure 5 in on one end and 4 2/3 on the other end making it impossible to get a tight seem. this happened all the time. dye lots never matched the sample of flooring being displayed a customer would buy a product because they like that stained color, then when they get it home it would be either lighter or really dark it was hardly ever the same color. also it really depends on what store you work at that will determine your bonus. the first 2 years i was with the company my store would have 200k to 250k plan and we would sell around 300k to 350k I was an assistant store manager and bringing home 1200 a month in bonus checks. but the next year they would go off what you shipped out plus some so now our plan was 350k instead of 200k, this went on for 2 more years until my bonuses when from 1200 a month to about 230.00 a month all the while shipping out more wood and making the company more money. there was a rumor that corp. was purposely giving really high plans to keep the managers from making so much money. I was only getting 17% of the bonus pool my store manager was getting 72% which is a great deal more. the worse part i think was the greed of the company they have started putting in more and more stores closer and closer together. when I left the company they had built 1 store 30 minutes away and another 10 minutes away then helled at us that we weren't doing enough when none of the stores made plan. so in closing if you are thinking about working for LL keep in mind you WILL work OT it will seem awesome at first but you get burnt out fast. and don't let them trick you with the bonus, it 100% depends on your store you get. the first 2 years I was told my bonus was more then some store managers. what does that tell you?

    Advice to Management

STOP please for the love of god stop the rahh rahh your all AKBA bull crap it worked the first year. now we're all tired of hearing it. stop telling us we need to step it up because we all have been some of us for years. I worked for you for over 4 years and I got to take 1 vacation and had to plan it 6 months in advance. staff more then 3 or 4 people per store. sometimes I was by my self for days because someone would call in sick and then once again you hell at me because the store looks like crap and the phones wouldnt be getting answered. I just worked open to close by my self sold flooring, loaded customers up, answered questions, ect give me a break!
