At one point in time this was a great company to work for and technology to work with. There were some talented people across the organization.
MicroStrategy lacks leadership and product strategy. C-Level, Sales and Professional Services management has been a revolving door for the last 3 years. The product and employees have suffered as a result. Michael Saylor is truly a technology visionary, but even he has moved his focus to his new yacht rental business. It should also be noted that they hardly use their own product internally instead they manage via Excel which is quite discouraging to BI professionals who believe in the product.
Advice to Management
Define a sales/licensing strategy and stick with it. Stop going all-in on your own hype like Wisdom, MicroStrategy Cloud and Usher. Instead invest your resources in the core product and let the market hype your new offerings when they see the value. Your customers are buying enterprise BI while you are bleeding cash into offerings they do not buy. Value professional services they understand your product and customers better than any other part of the organization.
