I have been working at NIH full-time

It is a large organization, so the work experience would widely differ for various institutes and departments. Overall, people are amicable and interested in their field of science. Work/life balance is great for those who are not in senior positions, unless some of those in leadership give last-minute notices for deadlines.

Some people in their permanent positions are comfortable where they are, and they may not work as hard and efficiently as they should. You are left wondering why some people who do not seem to be productive are still holding their jobs. Lots of bureaucracy involved in expanding a new idea and starting a new project.

    Advice to Management

Give more mentorship and career growth opportunities, especially for those who are eager for the improvement of work culture and for self growth.
