I worked at Office Depot part-time (More than a year)
Emphasis on customer service, so they will train you from scratch if you have good personality. Like most big-box, experience and opportunity largely depends on local management and co-worker, and I had pretty good ones. Flexible hours, so it's good for family. They use radio, which is really helpful.
One words: understaffed. Company cut so many hours the manager don't know how to maintain the store. Management, work hours, and number of staff changes frequently. Everyone "multi-task" due to lack of workers, so no one knows their own department and works too much for one person.
Advice to Management
Either reduce the services provided or add staff. If the company advertise customer service, then quality should be value over quantity.
